Postcards from an East Brighton Childhood
BDF17 Grassroots Award Winner
Artist Bonny Cummins has collaborated with sound artist and producer Josh , founder of WavMachine.com to tell the story of the area through atmospheric soundscapes and interactive imagery. This project has been created through the BDF17 award for digital community projects. This pop up digital and lenticular animation installation is a room with a view, depicting East Brighton from the racecourse to the seafront. The postcards installation has been inspired by ex-resident Dennis Constable who vividly recalls his happy childhood in 1940s/50s Whitehawk in tandem with reflections and playground songs by the children of Whitehawk Academy, his first school.
